The First Full Day with our Beloved Malades

It is Thursday morning, May 1 and we began our day with Morning Prayer. A perfect day to start the pilgrimage activiities. A month dedicated to Mary and here we are in Lourdes. It is also the memorial day of Saint Joseph the Worker, a gentle reminder of the gift and grace to be able to be here as workers for our Malades. Here in this picture we process to the Church of St Bernadette where will stay the morning to pray the rosary, have the sacrament of reconciliation and conclude with the washing of the Malades' feet. The Malades always travel in these blue carts whenever we go to the Sanctuary. The procession of carts, knights, dames, and volunteers is several hundred yards long.
