All is Quiet

This morning as we left the hotel there was no hustle and bustle getting ready for our next destination in the Sanctuary to continue our pilgrimage. The streets were quiet as 10,000 Members of the Order of Malta, volunteers, the Malades in their care and the companions accompanying the Malades had begun their journeys home. It was reflective and it was almost sad. Almost. God was gently allowing us to breathe again and to gain strength. To rest, to bring the memories and stories of this pilgrimage home to those who await us. The carts in which we pulled our beloved Malades lie quietly and empty awaiting new Malades on pilgrimage. They await their next passengers. We will construct these carts in our ministries at home. We will place, and allow ourselves to be placed, in carts of all types where we pull and are pulled, lead and are lead, to live the Gospel in the service of Our Lord.
