Our first visit to the Basilica and the Grotto

We got Alessandra into a malade cart, and headed to the Sanctuary of Lourdes. There we visited the large Rosary Basilica, the Grotto where Mary appeared to Bernadette, the prayer candle shrine, and the one of the chapels under the basilica. Many people in the plaza and in the churches today as the various Malta pilgrimages from around the world arrive and get underway. Pictured here, Alessandra and I talk about Jesus in tabernacle....the same Holy Communion that mom, Hallie, and Dad, Camilo, have back at home at St Raymond. Camilo meitioned that over the past three years at St Raymond, I have watched Alessandra grow up. Yes, it has been a real pleasure. Back to the hotel, dinner, a quick meeting of the yellow team that we are all asigned to, then off to bed. A big day tomorrow!!
