Fr Jim Heft, SM gives Penance Service Reflection

Fr Jim Heft, SM a professor at USC gives a reflection in preparation for the washing of feet ceremony and the sacrament of reconciliation. Both the sacrament and the ceremony provide a cleansing and healing of the spirit, and of course the feet. We ask for forgiveness as also forgive. We wash as Christ washed the feet of His Apostles. As he instructed us to do as he did. Drop all pretense, be served and be of service. Harbor no resentment to anyone. As Fr Jim commented, "to harbor resentment is to have someone living in your head rent free".
