A view fromm the choir loft in the Rosary Basilica

As I was getting out of my vestments in the Sacristy of the Basilica after mass, I noticed the door was open to the curved and narrow circular stone stairs up to the choir loft. The stairs are not for the claustrophobic. This picture gives a nice perspective of the Basilica. It was completed in 1899 and is one of three churches, atop the Grotto where our Lady appeared to Bernadette. Each church rest onto of the other, the Rosary Basilica being the largest.
