This morning about 35 of our pilgrims (the Yellow Team…we are all color coded J) walked to a hillside overlooking Lourdes to follow the Stations of the Cross and pray that devotion. There are two such stations in Lourdes…the Stations along the River Gave, known as the Prairie Stations, and those on a relatively steep and wooded hillside, known as the Upper Stations. The Upper Stations are life sized images, 115 in total along the 14 stations. The artist captures incredible human expressions in the faces of Roman soldiers, Pharisees, Mary, Veronica, Simon of Cyrene and the women of Jerusalem. We walked and pulled a cart to make it easier for one of the Malades. Climb to Calvary, the 11th, 12thand 13thstations, is steep and on a rugged path. We had 4 priests and along with myself we led devotion at each station. With us were Fr. George Schultze SJ, President at St Patrick’s Seminary, Fr. Andrew Ginter, Fr. Tim Lyons and Fr. Abe Antony. These pictures give you a look at 3 of the 14 stations.
