The walk up hill and the view back down..Upper Stations

Walking up to the start of the stations.. The view down to the town of Lourdes and part of the Sanctuary/Domain with the medieval castle on the distant hill. After arriving at the first station, and this picture, the climb continues to 13th station, Jesus is Taken Down from the Cross. Below is a picture of the church structure with the 3 churches one on top of another. The top church is called the Upper Basilica, siting on top of The Crypt (first church built in the Sanctuary) and on the bottom, the Rosary Basilica where we celebrated mass yesterday afternoon.
