One evening on each pilgrimage, we gather along with many thousands of our friends to pray the rosary in the main plaza in front of the Rosary Basilica. Candles lit, the rosary is recited in over a dozen languages...French, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Germany, Hungarian, Italian, English...to name some of them. We begin at dusk as a Statue of Our lady is carried in the front of the procession, winding through the Sanctuary roads and paths, all the different countries of the Order and their Malades following, praying the rosary and singing Salve Regina. We finish in front of the Rosary Basilica, lined on its upper balconies with other pilgrims with their lighted candles. Our voices of prayer and echo throughout the whole of city of Lourdes. It is a rosary unlike any I experience elsewhere, yet the one we pray in the quiet of our room is heard just a clearly.
