The Baths at Lourdes

You are looking at the structure that holds the baths. This is new in the past year....the external structure only...the inside remains the same with the changing rooms, and the volunteers of the Lourdes Sanctuary attending to those coming to the healing waters of this Grotto. As you wait outside for your time to go into the rooms and change to enter the baths, the environment is one of prayer. You need only glance at the faces in whose presence you are in, and the depth of faith, the anziety of their worry, the submission to God, through Mary, their incredible strength in bearing their burdens, and you can hardly escape a change in your own spirit. I went to the baths with a malade suffering with Parkensons disease. He has been diagnosed for 5 years but believes he has had it for 10-15 years. He is strong. He is filled with faith. He has his constant companion of his wife of 35 years. He will enter the baths...cold, very cold, but feel only the warmth of God's presence through the Mother of the Son. He is at this moment a hero to me. I will go to the baths, a picture of what they look like to the right. I will pray for him, and for the healing we all need and the healing I am yet to understand in require.
