Mass at the Our Lady's Grotto

Mass in the Grotto is always special. Saturday morning about 2000 gathered for mass where the principal celebrant was Cardinal Dolan of NYC. We are like Apostles seeing Christ from the boat in troubled seas...that the Church with its scandals and infighting, has sent an SOS to Christ, in the form of our prayers and our pilgrimage. That here in this Grotto we find a peaceful and safe harbor from the storms of lives. He reminded us also, that in the time of Bernadette, this cave was the garbage dump for Lourdes where the refuse of the city was left...that it remains the same today as we leave here the refuse we carry in our hearts and spirits. Pictured above to the left is our own Candy Hernandez who beautifully delivers the first reading.
